Style-Diet Shot – Wendy

Wendy Van Reisen, desginer.  She is wearing Dahlia Drive, a brand that she designs  Her clothes are upcycled.  For those of you who unfamiliar with the term, “Upcycling is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value.” (source Wikipedia).  Wendy’s clothes have a real whimsical feel.  I love the way she wields color!


Necklace is by Big Blue Moma  “All our pieces are handmade, using beads imported fair trade from the Krobo region of Ghana.   Some use broken bottles as the starting point, and others use repurposed trade beads that can be up to 200 years old.”


The Style-Diet Shot celebrates individuals with unique style, wearing at least one article of clothing acquired via the Stephens’ Sisters Shopping Diet. It must be local, sustainable, second-hand/re-purposed, inherited or ethically produced. If you can’t find clothing fitting that criteria then it must be from a country with stellar human rights records.
