Style-Diet Shot – Andra

“On matters of style, swim with the current. On matters of principle, stand like a rock.”

– Thomas Jefferson

Spending time around and about Rome these days, I’m continually surrounded by architectural, historical, cultural and sartorial beauty. Mamma Mia! I’m so overwhelmed, I hardly know where to start.  I post photos on instagram, I gush continually over the food and yesterday, I ran into charming Andra not too far from the Colloseum.

I told Andra about my blog and asked if I could take her photo.  I wanted to share her style of the day with you all.  Andra layered her greens delightfully: malachite earrings, sparklies in her necklace, the avocado handbag and the muddy forest of her dress. Like me, she strongly feels that clothes should be made without human sufferance. She is passionate about eating fruits and vegetables in season.  When I asked her about where her clothes came from she replied that she “was wearing boots made in Italy, from a roman producer. My handbag is made in Rome, in the small Sirni studio in via della Stelletta. My coat is an Italian brand of a guy in Veneto and it’s called Seventy and made in Italy.”

Andra colors changed

The Style-Diet Shot celebrates individuals with unique style, wearing at least one article of clothing acquired via the Stephens’ Sisters Shopping Diet. It must be local, sustainable, second-hand/re-purposed, inherited or ethically produced. If you can’t find clothing fitting that criteria then it must be from a country with stellar human rights records.

Lovely, you are on to something here sweet soul. Love the way you weave ” the Stephens’ Sisters Shopping Diet. It must be local, sustainable, second-hand/re-purposed, inherited or ethically produced. If you can’t find clothing fitting that criteria then it must be from a country with stellar human rights records.” Place, purpose and pleasure !!! or, local, loving, living !!! /”Never twice without a third”.// / Hey we had a great time today interviewing Jane Goodall, it was a tribal affair. Took her an old edition of Common Ground with Jane on front cover from 18 years ago plus a bag of mangoes, apple and grapefruit and a copy of Brionny Penn massive book /The Real Thing/ with the life story of Ian McTaggart Cowin the father of Canada’s environmental movement ( he is the guy that hired David Suzuki for a TV show called /The Nature of Things/). Ishi video recorded it , Suzan and her son Eammon witnessed, Catherine married to Ishi joined us at the end with the charming Zoe (5) and Stella (7) hugs and chimp sounds all around. Lovely message for heart, mind and soul for all species

Why video … because I have been given a new dream, a dream I am finding new language to explain this new context with a new medium. Phrases like “video commons” point to it, taking the common grounds intention into the streets and studio producing live-streaming video on-line CGTV.

Yes I am getting excited and the joy and yes yes yes is attracting other soulful skillful full soul who see the huge potential.

I saw on-line TV or independent live-streaming internet platforms while hanging out in Toronto with a man who has done it for over a dozen years. Steep learning curve, gotta love those curves.

Common Ground live ! With the publication giving the foundation and acting as the program guide for the on-line too.

Lots to play with and develope by combining the two and more mediums print -video-live events.

Good night . Time to see what the dream may come.

Peace and joy to you and yours dear soul sister. Loved your art gallery photo capers.

From your not-so-secret admirer and co-conspirator for a more wonderful world, Joseph

P.S. CG mag is always on-line with its print edition via commonground.ca Check out March edition page 21 article /ISIS is Saudi Arabia; Saudi Arabia + USA = ISIS// /

Thanks Bro-Jo! I am excited to get more real news via you and the Common Ground. I am loving the way new media is shaking up the internet and providing ‘biased’ news coverage instead of the “impartial” corporate media. I can envision you and some truth tellers going strong. Waiting with bated breath as you tackle the curves!
