Style-Diet Shot – GTC

I walked by a little store on the pedestrian Via dei Coronari in Rome and *had* to try on this ring. It’s Remus and Romulus suckling the Capitoline she-wolf. How much more Rome can you get? Dig this – it’s made in the shop by the sister and brother team of Michela and Roberto Borrazzi.  Crafted from resins, the result is antique pop art using original 1830 plaster casts. *Had* to share this photo Michela spontaneously took.  Ring: ‘Grand Tour Collection.’  http://grandtourcollection.it/ Purse made and bought in Italy about 5 years ago, and Woolen Coat by Selbu Knittings of Norway made and bought when I sang on the Hurtigruten S/V Midnatsol, (Midnight Sun) circa 10 years ago.  It’s gone through the ringer so many times – all those bits of wool that get pulled out by rings and buckles.  Thus, I am proud to proclaim that this Norwegian coat has been lovingly repaired countless times, most recently 4 weeks ago!

Zoe in the sk-shirt.  In case you are wondering what is a sk-shirt, it is a skirt-shirt.  Zoe‘s muy creative friend Jeanne Angelheart made this for her in Hawaii where they are both from.  The boots are vegan (Zippos!)  –  AND if you want to know what this boho-chic babe model and actress thinks about cell phones, check out the Tedx talk she gave earlier this year https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrOfZuvEr5w.

I lost the name of this Fashionista whom I met at EcoFashion Week during the Value Village evening.  It was the end of a delicious night of re-purposed fashion, my first ever EcoFashion event.  I was going home when I saw this woman who had been working at the show. Quickly, as my ride was walking out-of-sight, I asked her what she was wearing.  She was pretty much head to toe all Style-Diet Shot appropriate.  I think the black top with the gold buttons was a VV find.  Quickly taking this last shot with my new Nikon,  I then turned about and hurried up the stairs of Robson Square, catching up to my ride in the cold, rainy Vancouver night.

One of my facebook friends suggested that I put this photo up on Style-Diet.  Why not?  Everything I’m wearing is local, sustainable or second-hand. Nose-ring: Made in Italy bought in Italy.  Earrings: a present from Uncle Godfrey when I got married First Nations bead-work.  Tee shirt: Organic Cotton from Cotton Ginny. Repurposed cotton sweater: Happy 3.
